Christmas Presentations
We were certainly given a wonderful start to our Christmas celebrations by both the Lower and Upper School children. Both productions entertained everyone who was privileged enough to watch them. The acting was good but the singing was out of this world. The enthusiasm shone through with every song and the harmonies were just outstanding. If you did not come to both of the presentations, you missed a treat. What a precedent to set!A huge thank you to all those who gave so generously to the Barnardos collections: in total we collected a magnificent £266.19. Thank you so much for showing your appreciation in this way. This was the most that we have ever collected at this time of year. Back to top
Consultation Evenings
We had 85% attendance at our Consultation Evenings. Thank you to the parents who took advantage of discussing their child's progress with the teachers. For those parents who presented a 'no show' we have to express our disappointment as we have always maintained how important it is that parents and school work together. A letter will be sent out in the New Year to these parents, inviting them to telephone the school to make an early appointment with the class teacher. The feedback from parents was that they like being able to sign up for their own appointments. Back to topChristmas Technology Competition

P.E. Kit
Despite the last newsletter, the lack of PE kit is still an issue. Parents please be proactive about having P.E. kit in school on a Monday. Back to topClubs start on the week beginning 9th January 2006
Please note that there will be no clubs running on the very first week back. Clubs run by outside agencies will give notice of their intended return date. Back to topHeadlice
These little creatures are back amongst us! Please be vigilant and check your child's head. If all parents maintain the 'Sunday Night Head Check' we should not need to give out these warnings. Please be proactive in 2006. Back to topReading
Please encourage your child to keep up their reading record books during the Christmas break. It will pay dividends. Back to topSporting Fixtures
FootballThe football team has continued its excellent run of form with a hard fought draw against Calton and two 4-0 wins against Churchdown and Parton Manor.
Mr. Woolston would like to pass on his thanks to all the parents who have offered such great support and assistance, especially Mr. Levett for kindly helping with Football Club.
Chess
The Chess Team played a terrific game against Kings School but lost 3½ to 2½. We are ready and eager to challenge them to a return match in the New Year. Back to top
Christmas Chess Knockout Competition
Well done to Peter Anwyll, who was the winner of our school chess knockout competition. Commiserations to the children who took part but were knocked out during the competition. I am so pleased with the way so many children have engaged in playing chess and are committed to improving their standard of play.I have to shoo them out at break and lunchtimes! Back to top
Parking outside of school
Please could you take extra care when parking outside of school during the early morning period. A combination of lorries delivering to the Community Hall site and parked cars have caused a few difficulties for the motorist. The roads alongside the school were simply not built to accommodate these large vehicles. A concern has been expressed about cars parking with their wheels on the pavement. Back to topMrs. Meek
Mrs. Meek will be out of action for the beginning of next term. We are very fortunate that Mrs. Balzano will be able to cover her duties until her return. Hurry back, Mrs. Meek. Back to topSwimming in Spring Term 2006
