Summer Half Term: Mon 30th May - 3rd June
I am sure none of you would fail to remember but the children break up for the end of this term tomorrow, Friday 27th May. Let's hope we have some sunshine! Back to top'Spring' Fayre Saturday 21st May
Weren't we lucky with the weather! Thank you so much for supporting the school last Saturday. Our treasurer has informed us that the money raised should be somewhere in the region of £1400. Thanks must go to the 'Friends', who spent hours on the organisation of the fayre, as well as the parents and staff who gave up part of their weekend to man the stalls. I am sure that we can find a good home for some of this money! Back to topNut Allergy
Please could I remind you that we do have a child in Year 3 who could suffer an anaphylactic shock if she comes into contact with any kind of nut. Please bear this in mind when you make your child's packed lunch. Ideally we would prefer nuts to be 'a no go area' but if your child's lunchbox does contains nuts, the classteacher must be told so that the situation can be addressed. Thank you for your co-operation. Back to topRaffle Prize
Does anyone know a Mrs Sands? We have a raffle prize [GL1 tickets] which has been won by Mrs Sands but no telephone number to contact her on. If you can help us out of this predicament, please let us know. Many thanks. Back to topBalloons
Last Saturday saw the launch of hundreds of red balloons. Since then our post has contained balloon labels that have been sent in by people who have found them. So far they have been found in the Doncaster / Sheffield area. Watch this space! Balloons can still be bought and sent off. Just send in 50p [in an envelope with their name and marked 'Balloon Race'] and we'll do the rest. Back to topStaff appointments
We can now tell you about our new appointments for next September. Our first appointment is a delightful young lady by the name of Miss Louise Mackie as a full time class teacher. We look forward to welcoming her into our school before the end of the summer tem. Our second appointment is Mrs Shelagh Sawyer, who is already known by many of our children and parents as she has been teaching in school since last February. The staff are particularly delighted with this appointment as they feel that she is already one of the team. Back to topA Healthy School
Thank you for supporting our four days of fruit. There is a slip to be returned by tomorrow if you wish to buy fruit from the school for the week commencing Monday 6th June. We have put the cost at 20p a day. If we find that costs turn out to be lower than this, it will be passed on to the children during the course of the term. We cannot buy in fruit without an order slip as it could cost the school money. Further fruit order forms will be held by the class teacher and must be sent in by the Friday morning of the preceding week.Click on the link below to download a Word version of the fruit slip for future use. Parentline Plus
You should all have received the Parentline Plus leaflets during this week. Please look carefully at the three dates on offer and take advantage of them. If there is no take up, they will cancel them and this would be a shame. Back to topNetball Players
We were really excited last week when we received notice that three of our Year 6 netball team had been selected to go forward for possible selection for the Gloucester Netball Team.Well done to Kathryn Coleby, Nicole Jackson and Felicity Phillips. We will keep our fingers crossed and hope you make the final team. Back to top
Book Fayre
Thank you to all the parents who gave up their time after school to man the 'Book Fayre'. Mrs Pendlebury has told me that books totalling £470.91 were sold and we made £188.36 in commission. This amount has been taken in books for the school. Thank you all for your support. Back to topLunchtimes
The midday supervisors find lunchtimes quite difficult as they constantly have to 'nag' some children about following the school rules. All of the children know that rough play is not acceptable yet they still engage in it, saying that they are just playing. If you feel your child could benefit from a 'little discussion' about how to play with their friends, it would be appreciated. Back to topEuropean Cup Final
What a way to win a football match! If the children ever need a story about not giving up, we need to get out the video of this match. Excitement all the way!Well done, Liverpool (apologies to the Manchester United fans!). Back to top
