2006 SATs Results
Congratulations must go out to all our Year 6 pupils, who achieved so well in their SATs. The results were up on last year - perhaps we should ask Ofsted to pay us another visit! As we already know, each cohort of children differs in ability and therefore results will vary. However, the focus has been on improving the children's writing skills and we did see an increase at both Level 4+ and Level 5. This was very pleasing and is a result of both school development and the children's commitment to their learning. Writing skills will continue to be a target in the coming year as we consider there is still room for further development. Well done, Year 6. Back to topYear 6 Ball
The 'Friends' came up with this idea and carried it through from conception to completion. The children looked absolutely stunning in their evening attire. The boys looked so handsome and we had many oohs and ahhs as the girls paraded in their refinery. The dancing commenced with two waltzs, one rumba, one cha-cha cha and one samba. The disco dancing then followed on from this. Was it a successful evening? Every one is in aggreement on this one - it was an outstanding success. Year 5, you have something very special to look forward to next year. All Year 6 children will tomorrow be presented with a CD containing photographs of the children taken at the ball. Back to topThank You from the 'Friends'
The Friends wish to send their thanks to all our parents who have freely given their help throughout the year. It is not always possible to thank the helpers at the end of an event but their assistance is always greatly appreciated. Without the helpers, events just could not happen. Thank you. Back to topVacancies for Parent Governors
When we return to school in September, we will be advertising three vacancies for parent governors. We need you! If you wish to speak to any of our present governors about the role, please feel free to contact us. Back to topConsultation Evenings / Reports
Thank you to those parents who came along to see their children's work last week. Thank you for returning the feedback sheets so promptly. In response to the many queries about the attendance sheet, the figures were calculated up to the 30th June. Any 'N's after this date, were because the absence had not been processed through the computer. By the end of term, this N will have disappeared from your child's record. The feedback sheets will be analysed before next term starts and we will report our findings back to you. Back to topBag2School
The 'Friends' received a cheque for £144 for collecting a total weight of 720 kg of used clothing. Well done to you all for your contributions. They are hoping to repeat this event again in the Autumn term so, if you still have unwanted clothing, start bagging! Back to top100% attendance
We are not yet able to tell you which pupils will be receiving certificates for 100% attendance! We are aiming to be ready by tomorrow's assembly! Back to topLast school day of the Year: 'Bad Hair Day' Friday 21st July
For our new parents 'Bad Hair Day' has now become a regular feature of the last school day of the year. This day is to be both non-uniform and bad hair. Please be generous and support 'Clic'. Last year we had some wonderful, wacky, colourful hairstyles that made for very good photo opportunities. NO SCHOOL UNIFORMS TOMORROW! Back to topLost Property
If you think your child may have lost clothing during the term, please have a look through the mounds of lost property which will be displayed in the Quiet Area from 8.30 a.m. onwards. We do store lost clothing until the end of the first month after a holiday but then discard it, recycle it or take it to a charity shop. Back to topSummer Project: Diary writing
All children should have brought home their letter about this writing project and the exercise book accompanying it. Please tell us if you have not received this information. Back to topP.E. Kit
Please ensure that from September your child has his or her P.E. kit in school every Monday morning. This way, we will avoid children repeatedly missing their P.E. sessions. Back to topDonate-a-Book
Thank you to all the Year 6 children and leavers in other year groups who have sent in a 'Donate-a-Book'. Books can be donated right up to the last day of term. We really do appreciate these donations. Many thanks. Back to topReps newsletter

On Saturday 15th July, Miss Mackie and Mrs Jenkins spent a very pleasant few hours on the River Avon at Tewkesbury with 8 children and a handful of parents. The sun was glorious, the company wonderful and everyone had a brilliant time.We came 2nd in each of the two races (two boats in each race!!) but it's the taking part that counts. Back to top
