Consultation Evenings
We were really pleased to see the turn out on the two recent Consultation evenings. We do appreciate the effort that you make in order to be able to come along and discuss your child's progress. Back to topThe new recruits
As I walked around during the consultation evenings, many parents expressed their appreciation of the efforts made by the school staff. It was especially pleasing to hear of the high regard in which our parents hold our three new staff members - Mrs Pendlebury, Miss Schofield and Mrs Harber. Newly appointed staff often have a tough task in their first year at a new school. They may be replacing established members of staff who have earned their reputation over many years and are well liked by the parents or as in the case of Miss Schofield, they may be a newly qualified teacher. All three teachers are doing a super job at Innsworth. Back to topChess Congress 2002
Eight children took part in this year's chess congress. Congratulations must go to;Jessica Jones [Year 4] who has retained her position as Gloucester Girls' Champion.
Thomas Bartlett, [Year 6] who was joint second.
Congratulations must go to Thomas Bartlett, Matthew Smith [Year 5] and Jessica Jones who have all been chosen to represent Gloucester and Gloucestershire in the forthcoming chess matches. We are really proud of you all. Back to top
Sponsorship General Knowledge
It has been brought to our knowledge that confusion reigns over which questions the children can attempt to answer. The aim is for children to score as many correct answers as possible. As this is our objective, please consider the following:If your child wishes to attempt some, but not all in a section, this is quite acceptable. Just tick the boxes for those sections that are being attempted.
If they are attempting to answer a few from every section, just tick every box.
If your child wishes to attempt every question from only five sections, then only tick the five appropriate boxes.
Each child will be given the same question sheet that they were given but there will be missing spaces where the answer needs to be inserted. So our children will only need to attempt those questions that they know, irrespective of the sections they occur in.
Please ask for further explanation if you are still confused. We want the children to succeed, whether they attempt 10 or 120 questions. Back to top
Early Morning Booster Groups
Keep up the good attendance. Watch those results in July!Mathematics - Level 6 -By Friday parents should have received a letter inviting the children working at level 6 to attend one or both of the planned sessions. The sessions will be from 3.15 p.m. to 4.15 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. Back to top
After School Club
I was really sorry to hear that our "Innsworth Out of School Club" is in danger of folding because of staffing problems. The parents who set this up did a marvellous job of getting this up and running. I do hope that all interested parents will come along to the meeting tonight - 7 p.m. at Innsworth Junior. It would be a travesty if all their efforts now go to waste. See you this evening! Gloscat - Family learning Project
The response to the two projects has been very limited. Gloscat have decided to put the projects on 'hold' until after Easter in order to ascertain whether there is sufficient demand for the two courses to run. Back to topFootball Update
The football team played on Tuesday against Coney Hill at home. They played extremely well and won 3:1. Our next match is against Widden Primary today. Back to topPeanuts
We have a child in the upper school with a nut allergy. Obviously we would prefer the other children not to have peanut butter sandwiches but we do realise that this could cause problems for some parents. Please could we ask you to let the classteacher know if your child's sandwiches contain nuts on any particular day. Thank you. Back to topFizzy Drinks
If possible, we would prefer children not to bring fizzy drinks to school, as we have had problems with spillages caused by 'shaken' bottles. Back to topOriginal 'Word' document
