Christmas Newsletter Tuesday 21st December 2004

Christmas Eve in three days time!!
As usual school has been a place where activities have been in full swing. It's now time for the staff to think about Christmas shopping, Christmas dinner ...etc Back to top
Lower School Production - "Christmas Grotto"
Once again we were treated to a magnificent presentation from the Lower School. The singing and acting radiated fun and enjoyment and it was evident for all to see. We obviously have some budding thespians in our midst. The children and staff have worked hard all term to make this the production what it was. Thank you to everyone who took part. Back to top
Upper School Production - "Rock Around Christmas"
The Upper School, not to be outdone by the Lower School, rose to the challenge of entertaining us with "Rock Around Christmas". It was another wonderful example of what the children can achieve with hard work, commitment and parental support. It makes me very sad to hear that some schools no longer feel able to celebrate Christmas in school in the way that we do. Every opportunity for children to gain confidence in front of an audience should be taken. Back to top
Charity Donations
We raised a total of £233.29 for Barnardos over the four Christmas Presentation evenings and £77.91 for CLIC for today's non-uniform day. Back to top
Friends - Christmas Raffle prizes
Thank you for sending in such super prizes for the raffle. You were incredibly generous and the hampers almost shouted out, "Come and win me."
As of today, we do not yet have a total for the amount raised but I have no doubt, the Friends will report a handsome profit for their festive season. Back to top
Christmas Technology Competition
The technology morning was a huge success with an abundance of creativity in evidence. The children worked well to create their table decorations and should be thoroughly congratulated for their achievements.
The judges had a difficult task and spent a long time agonising over their decisions. The judges had asked that children's names were not on display so that it could be judged as fairly as possible.

Christmas Parties
The parties are over for another year! Thank you all for the generous amount of food that was sent in.
Last night my twenty-one year old daughter was saying that even now she can still remember the fun of her parties at Innsworth and that is something she has missed as she has grown older! This is what school should be about. Back to top

Mrs Evans
The day has finally arrived and we now have to say "au revoir" to Mrs Evans. She has been a wonderful member of staff and will be missed by staff and children alike. We wish her well and hope that she may return at some point in the future. Her dedication to both the school and her individual classes will not be easy to replace. On behalf of all parents, staff and governors, "Thank you Mrs Evans." Back to top
In-Service Day - Please keep this newsletter in an obvious place for easy reference.
Wednesday 5th January 2005 is an In-Service Day for staff. The first day of term for the children will be Thursday 6th January.

"Thank You" for all of the Christmas cards and gifts that we have received. [Diets may be figuring highly in our list of New Year's resolutions!] Your kind thoughts are always warmly appreciated.

May I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hope to see you all during the coming term. Back to top
